The story of this book for children

On the evening of December 24, at Grandma’s, Grandpa’s, or the home of the adult of your choice, the Christmas tree sparkles and the air is filled with the scent of gingerbread. Suddenly, on the mantelpiece, an old golden bell begins to ring all by itself. A yellowed drawing then reveals a family secret: a long time ago, on a Christmas Eve, this adult helped Santa Claus himself! A young reindeer taps on the window: the sleigh’s bells have fallen silent, and the reindeer can no longer find their way. Soaring over a forest of snow-covered fir trees, arriving at the North Pole where the elves celebrate a joyful reunion, a warm welcome from Santa Claus in his workshop... Then comes the big challenge: climbing all the way to the top of an ice tower, where only a child can ring the bell. Step by step, with a helping hand and words of encouragement, the child or children gain confidence and discover their own courage. A story of passing on traditions and the bond between generations, where the magic of Christmas is passed from hand to hand, like a precious little bell. Everyone can see themselves in the illustrations, from the crystal steps to the sleigh gliding over the illuminated city. A memory to share by the fireplace and to read together again and again, every Christmas.

It's the evening of December 24th. At Grandma's house, the Christmas tree sparkles and the air smells of gingerbread. Suddenly, on the mantelpiece, a little old golden bell starts ringing all by itself, very softly: ding, ding, ding!

Lina and Noé jump. Who’s ringing the little bell? Grandma picks it up in both hands with a funny little smile. Their eyes sparkle like the stars. "I knew that one day, it would ring again," she whispers.

Grandma pulls out an old, yellowed drawing from a box. It shows a sleigh, reindeer, and a little child. "That's me, a very long time ago. One Christmas night, I helped Santa Claus!" They can't believe it.

"He left me this little bell, saying: in case I ever needed you again." Knock, knock, knock! Behind the frosted window, a young reindeer with tiny antlers gently taps the glass with his nose.

Grandma puts on her coat and takes the little bell. Lina and Noé climb onto the reindeer's back, nice and snug against Grandma. Up! The reindeer leaps from the garden toward the starry sky. The stars seem to wink at them.

Santa Claus points to a tall ice tower. "Only your old bell can wake my sleigh bells. But it must be rung way up high, by a child." Grandma turns to Lina and Noé: "It's up to you!"
